Welcome to the COMBASE software platform

The COMBASE software platform has been developed under the framework of the LIFE COMBASE project (GA N LIFE15 ENV/ES/416 COMBASE) with the main purpose of supporting the safe and sustainable production and use of biocidal active substances from a life cycle perspective.

The tool includes a list of modules to assist SMEs and stakeholders on the ecotoxicological assessment of biocidal active substances (BAS), the identification of metabolites of concern and the comparative assessment of the risk posed by the active substances under normal conditions of use.

Before using the COMBASE software platform, please carefully read the latest version of the user´s manual, which will allow you to quickly familiarise yourself with the tool. If in any doubt, please contact the administrator by e-mail, life.combase@gmail.com.

Scope

The models on which the COMBASE Tool is based are applicable to BAS with a chemical formula. In no way can the tool be used for alternative substances such as inorganic substances, plant extracts or living beings. Additional information at the present regard is available in the user’s manual.

Users

The COMBASE Tool has been conceived for: BAS developers, Biocidal Products Formulators, Consultancy companies providing services for BAS registration, Regulators at national and EU level, Consumer Associations, Research Institutions (Universities, Research and Technological Centers) and any other entity with interest in chemicals with biocidal properties and their corresponding ecotoxicological effects.

On the privacy of the information provided – CONFIDENTIALLITY ISSUES

The information provided by the tool user is under no circumstance stored in the internal data bases of the COMBASE Tool.
